Young Entrepreneur Camp - Middle Grades Open to 11-14 year olds
August 3-7, 2020

Monday - Friday, 9 am - 3:30 pm

During this week-long camp, middle grades students will master the art of entrepreneurial thinking and turn their big ideas into dynamic pitches, consulting projects for local businesses, personal portfolios and websites.

Students will network with successful entrepreneurs and learn how to "make it" as your own boss.

All campers will receive a certificate of completion and an opportunity to sell their goods at the annual Chicago Children's Business Fair in November 2020!

Young Entrepreneur Camp - Elementary Open to 6-10 year olds
August 10-14, 2020

Monday - Friday, 9 am - 3:30 pm

For our elementary kidpreneurs, this week-long camp will offer energetic, playful, and challenging discovery through lots of experimentation and "oops" moments.

Campers will serve as student consultants to local businesses, make their own commercials, and learn how to turn problems into businesses.

They will be supported as they put their big ideas to the test and we'll cheer them on as they begin to see themselves as entrepreneurs. All campers will receive a certificate of completion and an opportunity to sell their goods at the annual Chicago Children's Business Fair in November 2020!.

About the Instructor:
Alex Ellison

Alexis, Summer Camp Instructor

Alex Ellison is a college counselor and education consultant.

She was the co-founder of Girl Empire, an entrepreneurship conference for teen girls, as well as the director of New E, a Nevada-based nonprofit program aimed at introducing young people to entrepreneurship. While doing work in rural Nevada, Alex built a work-based learning program for high school students as a way to give them the necessary context to make decisions about their futures.

Over the years, she has led numerous camps and in-school programs for students in elementary school through college. In 2016, she was a TEDx speaker on the topic of "job hopping" trends for the next generation, in 2017, she spoke at SXSWedu about teaching entrepreneurial thinking to GenZ, and in the same year, she was invited to Malaysia to speak at the Kuala Lumpur International Youth Discourse on Jobs of the Future.

About the camps

  • Held at Greenfields Academy; 3232 N Elston Ave; Chicago.
  • Monday - Friday, 9 am - 3:30 pm.
  • Student drop-off will be open from 8:30-9 am daily.
  • Cost: $450 per week. Sign up before February 25 and automatically receive a 10% early bird discount!
  • Campers should bring a nut-free lunch, snacks, and water bottle each day.
  • Plenty of fun, games and outside play will be incorporated into each day of camp.
  • Camp fees will be invoiced upon registration.
