Greenfields Academy summer camps are open to the public and offer fun hands-on activities and challenges which allow young heroes to grow their confidence, build teamwork skills, and enjoy learning. This summer we are exploring the art and skills related to photography and filmmaking with our guest guide, award-winning professional photographer & filmmaker, Ben Kurstin.
Photography: August 13-17, 2018
Come and get hands-on with express yourself with photography. Campers will learn to take portraits that show personality, discover how a darkroom works, build their own pinhole cameras, and express their creativity through a variety of exposure techniques. They will get hands-on experience with digital cameras, lighting kits, and darkroom tools. And of course they will have some games and fun in the sun, as it’s summertime after all!
Filmmaking: August 20-24, 2018
Our second week of camp delves into the world of filmmaking! Campers will learn how lenses and cameras work, dive into screenwriting, experience the art department (color, props, wardrobe!), and then layer in some editing, lighting and sound. At the end of the week they will put all of their new skills to use by filming and editing their very own short. Campers will also have time each day for fun in the sun and team-building games, to enjoy the end of summer vacation.
